Certified Introduction to Distillery Safety Course

This is the upgraded course built on the foundations of our Introduction to Distillery Safety course. The Australian Distillers Association, in partnership with the National Distilling Institute, have mapped the Introduction to Distillery Safety against the Certificate 3 Unit of Competency FBPWHS3001 Contribute to Work Health and Safety Processes.

The re-worked course adds practical hands-on learning, as individuals and in groups, to cover Incident Reporting, Injury Reporting, and Hazard Identification. All participants also get access to detailed templates to adapt and use in their day to day operations.

This one-day, in-person course is designed to equip distillery professionals, like yourself, with relevant, industry specific, workplace safety training. The comprehensive curriculum covers essential safety protocols and responsibilities, ensuring participants understand the critical importance of compliance and the potential ramifications of non-adherence.

Note for those who have already completed the original Introduction to Distillery Safety course: you don't need to complete the new course, we will be creating a quick bridging course to upgrade your current credentials in the near future.

This course provides essential safety training for individuals working, (or having a desire to work), in a distillery, covering key safety requirements and responsibilities. It emphasises the importance of adhering to safety protocols and highlights the potential consequences of non-compliance.

Course facilitator: Seb Reaburn

I come to my roles as founder at Anther Gin and Master Distiller with Top Shelf from a long history in the alcohol industry, making cocktails, serving spirits, and managing brands. In every role I have been recognised with national and international awards, including Champion Spirit Trophies, Bartender of the Year, World’s Best Cocktail Menu, Australian Whisky Producer of the Year, Australian Vodka Producer of the Year and Worlds best Vodka Producer. I have been a part of the Australian liquor industry for over two decades and in that time I have had the pleasure of operating and owning some of the most awarded bars in Australia (1806 and Heartbreaker). I‘ve enjoyed being part of building high growth independent brands including 42 Below, 666 Vodka, Anther Gin with Dervilla McGowan and now Ned, Grainshaker and Act of Treason Agave with the Top Shelf portfolio. As partner in Anther Spirits with Dervilla McGowan, we have built a dedicated distillery and cellar door in Geelong Australia. I have had the privilege over my career to design, build and commission several distilleries, working closely with safety and design consultants, to create safe workplaces that produce award winning spirits.
